The Artist
​
I am primarily a watercolor artist but also work occasionally with colored pencils. I really enjoy the experience of watercolor - the way it moves across the paper, responding to the variety of intrusions I may introduce creating unique patterns and textures.
Every new work is a learning experience.
​
I paint a variety of subjects and especially enjoy doing animals. It's always fun to see a personality emerge.
I also look for images that will draw your attention and trigger curiosity about the story being told.
A smile or chuckle is often a welcome response.

I grew up in Minnesota and moved to the Seattle area in 1985. Along the way, many art classes and design projects.
Now a full-time resident on Whidbey Island, I paint from my backyard studio surrounded by the beautiful
Pacific Northwest forest and Puget Sound. It is my sanctuary.

I am a member of the Artists of South Whidbey and have participated in the ASW Annual Art Show, art exhibits at
Whidbey Island Center for the Arts, Whidbey Island Fair and other events across Whidbey Island.
